The first two are outstanding movies. The Road clearly above Enemy.
I loved Ed Harris' character in Enemy. How they portrayed the Soviet 'system/army/society' was, ah, rosy. But then again, I'm one of those vicious anti-Communists.
I couldn't get through Amish Grace. Too painful.
I'd ask you to be a movie buddy, but you seem to have a full plate already. Maybe I'm wrong?

What's a movie buddy?

Seriously, I have never heard that. I am such a cinematic Philistine....

It's a term that my wife's friend came up with. She was my 'movie buddy' until her fourth child came along and now is not watching any films for a while for the obvious reasons. We both watched 10ish films, docs, shorts a month. Our lists were not congruent, but maybe we had previously seen it or are spurred on to watch it by a rec, which often happened and was very cool. Debate was always in play. I have found, since N/f destroyed their forum community (the last step was to take away our handles to destroy any individuality or flavor), that most film forums are way over my head (IA) or are a bit on the lighter side. It's hard to find something (which I consider) in the middle.

You are a cinematic Philistine? I don't know Mando. We like what we like and there 'aint nothing wrong with the so named, 'shallow end of the pool'.

Hey, did you get a new dog?

I hope everything is good in Mando land.

E- I forget to add this. The Road and Enemy are the shallow end? The first is an All-Timer and the second is a damn good film. Though I hated the air-brushing of the Soviets. It seems only those that have lived under Communism have made good films regarding that putrid system.
